
The following is a brief description of our planned professional learning work for January 26. This work is organized around our district’s collective goal:
All students shall be at grade level in numeracy.
Based on grade level and math outcomes, staff will determine which math outcomes/themes are to be targeted from February to June 2026. This will include common themes with the goal of incorporating specific problem-solving techniques and strategies in literacy and specialty classes as well as real world situations when connecting with administrative assistants and custodians. Collaborative teams (K-2, 35), will create math word problems, with a focus on gradually increasing word count, steps required to solve the problem and specific number and operation outcomes reviewed or introduced. Increasing work stamina and independence will be key ingredients in formulating questions based on grade level and curriculum.
